Now it is that „New Year – New Me“ time of the year, and we are all making long lists of changes and improvements we would like to accomplish during this year.
Aren’t we all planning to start exercising (more), eat less junk food, have a healthy diet, spend more time with family, get a (new) job, finish college, start learning Chinese, play the drums, travel the world and go to skydiving? Hell of a plan, ha!
These are all great resolutions – ambitious, inspiring and fulfilling. But, is there anyone who put good quality sleep at the top of New year’s resolutions? There aren’t many hands hanging in the air right now, aren’t they?
Knowing that all the plans we make for the upcoming day are very much depending on how we have spent the previous night, makes the question above much more logical, doesn’t it?
Just imagine going to skydiving all sleep deprived and grouchy? Or trying to memorize all that new Chinese words with the brain half-asleep… On long terms, not getting the efficient sleep that you deserve can bring you even serious health problems. And there is no way to learn living with insufficient, poor-quality sleep, as it would be like learning to live without water or food – doable on short terms, but dangerous and impossible on long terms.
Nevertheless, almost one third of life that most people spend sleeping should serve accomplishing the aims and fulfilling the dreams of other two halves. So don’t take is as a granted, sleep is something that should be worked on in order to achieve its purpose – to make you get the most of your day.
If our words have made you reconsider your priorities, and you have decided to put the sleep at the top of your 2018th list of resolutions, you are now in front of a demanding task – finding a perfect solution that will make your bed an oasis of an efficient sleep that gives you rest and the energy for the upcoming day.
